Travellers leave Hurst Green Park

Halesowen residents have spoken of their relief after travellers that had appeared on Hurst Green Park left the site.

A fleet of caravans had turned up on Sunday night, leading to police and councillors demanding that they move on.

Halesowen North Councillor Hilary Bills praised Dudley Council, who put measures in place that any access to the park by travellers was a criminal act.

She said the forward-thinking of the local authority had avoided a lengthy court process which councils are bound by.
